The road to 10

TLDR:

  • If you think about it without the weightage of societal expectations, you’ll recognize that what 10 truly is for you is completely different from your next door neighbor. You are not them, and neither are they you.
  • Contrary to that millionaire preaching how to reach 10 in the manner that they did, that is not the only way, and it most probably wouldn’t work for you regardless.
  • There’s no commoditized solution that’ll ever work for everyone in the world because the human race is too intricate to be pigeonholed in such a manner.
  • Like Alex Hormozi says, you need a “category-of-one solution” that is tailored to your individual needs, one that will solve your unique problem in a unique way that reverses your biggest objections, for that is how it’s meant to be.

The infinite routes to reach 10

As Vinh Giang says, there are an infinite amount of ways to reach 10. If you think about it, in an ideal world where you’re not bound to chains of constructs such as societal expectations, what 10 would look like for you, is completely different for the neighbor next door.

It is the same principle as what comes naturally to you and someone else: it’s an apples-to-oranges comparison. You are not them, and neither are they you.

Be it happiness, financial freedom, good health, or fulfillment as the examples Vinh gives or whatever else you define 10 as the parameters you set are unique to you and you only.

That person you come across scrolling through social media preaching how to reach 10 like they did and how that is the only way? Not only would it most probably not work for you, but they’ll eventually get arrested for running some pyramid scheme.

There’s no commoditized solution that’ll ever work for everyone in the world because the human race is too intricate to be pigeonholed in such a manner.

Akin to the “category-of-one” lingo Alex Hormozi uses in his Acquisition.com course, it’s the only solution that is tailored to your individual needs, one that will solve your unique problem in a unique way that reverses your biggest objections.

Because that’s how it’s meant to be.

It may be that you’re falling down more than the average person attaining 10 and getting one step closer, and your progress is slower than most as a result, but it’s part of the process. You have to trust and fall in love with it.

When I began university, the vision I had in mind was to graduate with a six-figure job offer, and to do so I had to ace all my classes, actively participate in clubs and join their board for my extracurriculars, ticking off all the basic requirements of what companies look for in prospects who just graduated from their perspective.

But I realized that it was essentially me indulging in people-pleasing in hopes of satisfying the “through line” rather than “my line” (or “you line” as Vinh says in his podcast clip).

By deep observations of my surroundings and taking in every single experience I’ve had since university and analyzing them have helped me create a far better image of the 10 I really want to attain, which is simply to spend my time engaging in natural aptitudes that I know would not only lead me to true happiness, but by dedicating enough time mastering the craft, I’ll reach the level of financial freedom required to keep me content and continue doing what I enjoy doing.

And that for me is one of the infinite routes to 10.
